Peer-Led Initiatives for Graduate and Postdoctoral scholars

Currently, there are five committees that focus on different peer-led safety initiatives for laboratory safety teams. Each committee is detailed below.   • Peer-Led Workshops
    • This committee oversees the Peer-Led Workshops (Empowering Academic Researchers to Strengthen Safety Culture and RAMP Risk Management in the Research Lab). 
  • LST Quick Connections
    • This committee oversees LST Quick Connections which is an event hosted by LST leaders for other LST leaders to foster continued communication and collaboration between national LSTs. This committee meets semesterly and organizes each virtual meeting with a different focused topic.

    • This committee oversees organization of events at local sections, regional meetings, or other events for the Peer-Led community.

  • LST Communications and Branding
    • This committee oversees communications and outreach notifications for the Peer-Led community including our LST website, Slack channel and upcoming Peer-Led Newsletter.

  • LST Mentorship
    • This committee is a group of alumni laboratory safety leaders or team members and other safety professionals who support the other peer-led and LST committees with content review and advice. The mentorship committee may also participate in events and serve as back-up moderators for virtual Peer-Led Workshop events. The mentorship committee meets with the individual committees that they share common backgrounds in and will meet accordingly to the committee they mentor.
